About Alucobond PLUS®
All About Alucobond PLUS®Alucobond®, also known as an aluminum composite panel or aluminum sandwich panel, is an innovative building material for both interior and exterior applications, globally recognized for its durability and versatility. The panel consists of two 0.5 mm aluminum cover sheets and a core that is either fire-retardant (B1) or non-combustible (A2) and filled with minerals. This construction guarantees sustainable building quality and offers the highest creative standards for architectural design.
What sets ALUCOBOND® apart is its precise flatness, wide range of surfaces and colors, and exceptional formability. A unique feature is the ability to rout and fold panels: by routing grooves on the back, panels can be manually folded into the most creative shapes, on-site if desired.
Plano Plastics has a large stock of ALUCOBOND® PLUS with a fire-retardant core (fire class B). Standard sheet sizes are 4050 × 1500 mm and 3050 × 1500 mm, but custom work is also an option: custom sawing, routing, and assembly. For custom work, we kindly request that construction drawings be submitted digitally (DXF). You can evaluate colors in advance with a sample via the product page.

Frequently asked questions about this material
What is the difference between Alucobond and Planobond?
Alucobond® features a fire-retardant (B1) or non-combustible (A2) mineral core and 0.5 mm cover sheets: the choice for facades with fire safety requirements. Planobond has a polyethylene core and is the cost-effective choice for signage and displays.
Can I process Alucobond myself on-site?
Yes, you can adjust the size or create a corner using most standard construction site tools. We also supply panels with pre-milled grooves that you can fold on site.
How do routing and folding work?
By milling grooves into the back of the panel, it can be folded manually into creative shapes. The shape of the groove determines the bending radius.
Which surfaces are available?
In addition to solid colors, also Anodized Look, naturAL, Terra, Urban, Spectra & Sparkling, Rocca, and Solid & Metallic. Request a sample via the product page.
How do I provide customized solutions?
For custom cutting, routing, and assembly, we kindly ask that you send your architectural drawings digitally in DXF format.
Is Alucobond suitable for high wind loading?
Yes, the high rigidity enables technically perfect facades, even with large self-supporting roofs and elements with extremely high wind loads.
