Transport Planner / Dispatch & Warehouse Coordinator

About the role

You bring clarity, you think ahead and you involve the team.

As a transport planner / coordinator of expedition & warehouse, you are the link between production, warehouse and our transport partners. You plan the outgoing goods flows daily, dispatch a team of employees within the expedition and are also responsible for the organization and order in the warehouse.

You work both in the office (planning, coordination, administration) and on the floor (leading, contributing, stepping in when necessary). You enjoy being involved in operational matters, but also in implementing structure and improvements.

Transport & shipping

  • Daily planning of shipments (national and possibly international) for outgoing goods.
  • Maintain contact with drivers and carriers regarding planning, rates, deviations, and delivery times.
  • Ensuring that shipments are fully and timely ready for shipment.
  • Solving ad-hoc deviations (delays, changes in orders, rush shipments).
  • Checking transport documents (packing slips, freight bills, etc.).

Management of the expedition team

  • Daily work allocation and management of the dispatch team.
  • Coaching, motivating and guiding colleagues in the workplace.
  • Ensuring quality, safety and efficiency within the expedition.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and proposing improvements.

Warehouse & internal logistics

  • Partly responsible for a logical, safe and tidy warehouse.
  • Monitoring stock flows in collaboration with colleagues (purchasing, production).
  • Contribute to optimizing warehouse layouts, routes, and work processes.
  • Checking incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure proper registration in the system.

Who are you?

You feel at home in a dynamic production and logistics environment and enjoy structure. You enjoy planning and supervising and guiding colleagues on the floor.

You prefer to have:

  • MBO/MBO+ work and thinking level, preferably in the direction of logistics/transport.
  • Several years of experience in a logistics environment (dispatching, transport planning, warehouse).
  • Experience in managing or coordinating a small team is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of transport documents and logistical processes.
  • Experience with an ERP or WMS system (or the willingness to learn it quickly).
  • Good command of the Dutch language; English or German is a plus.

You are:

  • Structured and good at setting plans and priorities.
  • Strong communicator, both towards colleagues and external carriers.
  • Hands-on: You have no problem walking on the floor and jumping up and down.
  • Solution-oriented and stress-resistant; you stay calm when things are busy.
  • Someone who takes responsibility and dares to look ahead.

What do we offer you?

At Plano Plastics you will find yourself in an informal and down-to-earth team, where lines are short and there is room for self-initiative. We offer you, among other things:

  • A challenging, versatile role with both planning and operational responsibility.
  • The opportunity to make a real impact on our logistics processes.
  • Managerial responsibility over a small, close-knit team.
  • An appropriate salary, depending on knowledge and experience.
  • Good secondary employment benefits, such as a pension scheme, holiday days and travel expenses allowance.
  • Opportunities to further develop yourself in transport planning and logistics.
  • Working at a stable company with a pleasant, collegial work atmosphere.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need experience with CNC machines?

Experience is a plus, but not a requirement. We will fully train you on our machinery. What matters is that you have a technical aptitude, work accurately, and are motivated to learn the trade.

What does a workday at Plano look like?

You start by working on that day’s work orders. Then you work at the machine or in the warehouse, in coordination with your coworkers. No two days are the same: one order might be a single sheet, while another could be a batch of a thousand.

What are the working hours, and is there a shift schedule?

We work day shifts, from Monday through Friday. No nights and no weekends. Start and end times are negotiable to fit your home situation.

What career advancement opportunities are available?

Plenty. We train people internally to become operators, all-round employees, or team leaders. We pay for training courses and certificates, such as a forklift certificate.

What does the application process look like?

Submit the form, and you’ll hear back within two business days. This will be followed by an on-site introductory meeting that includes a tour of the facility, and usually a second interview. You’ll hear back shortly after that to find out if we’ve reached an agreement.

Can I also send a speculative application?

Certainly. If there is no suitable vacancy open, use the same form or call us. We will keep your details for four weeks, or longer if you give permission to do so.
