About the role
You bring clarity, you think ahead and you involve the team.
As a transport planner / coordinator of expedition & warehouse, you are the link between production, warehouse and our transport partners. You plan the outgoing goods flows daily, dispatch a team of employees within the expedition and are also responsible for the organization and order in the warehouse.
You work both in the office (planning, coordination, administration) and on the floor (leading, contributing, stepping in when necessary). You enjoy being involved in operational matters, but also in implementing structure and improvements.
Transport & shipping
- Daily planning of shipments (national and possibly international) for outgoing goods.
- Maintain contact with drivers and carriers regarding planning, rates, deviations, and delivery times.
- Ensuring that shipments are fully and timely ready for shipment.
- Solving ad-hoc deviations (delays, changes in orders, rush shipments).
- Checking transport documents (packing slips, freight bills, etc.).
Management of the expedition team
- Daily work allocation and management of the dispatch team.
- Coaching, motivating and guiding colleagues in the workplace.
- Ensuring quality, safety and efficiency within the expedition.
- Identifying bottlenecks and proposing improvements.
Warehouse & internal logistics
- Partly responsible for a logical, safe and tidy warehouse.
- Monitoring stock flows in collaboration with colleagues (purchasing, production).
- Contribute to optimizing warehouse layouts, routes, and work processes.
- Checking incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy and quality.
- Ensure proper registration in the system.
Who are you?
You feel at home in a dynamic production and logistics environment and enjoy structure. You enjoy planning and supervising and guiding colleagues on the floor.
You prefer to have:
- MBO/MBO+ work and thinking level, preferably in the direction of logistics/transport.
- Several years of experience in a logistics environment (dispatching, transport planning, warehouse).
- Experience in managing or coordinating a small team is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of transport documents and logistical processes.
- Experience with an ERP or WMS system (or the willingness to learn it quickly).
- Good command of the Dutch language; English or German is a plus.
You are:
- Structured and good at setting plans and priorities.
- Strong communicator, both towards colleagues and external carriers.
- Hands-on: You have no problem walking on the floor and jumping up and down.
- Solution-oriented and stress-resistant; you stay calm when things are busy.
- Someone who takes responsibility and dares to look ahead.
