Commissioned by Levanto Brighter Ideas (@levantobrighterideas), Plano Plastics realized the KPN logo as a freestanding object for the lobby of the KPN head office. The letters K, P, and N are constructed from AcoFelt, recycled PET felt, in the characteristic KPN green. In addition to the visual recognition of the brand, the felt contributes to the acoustics of the lobby.
Self-developed construction
Large, freestanding letters require a different approach than a flat panel. Plano Plastics developed its own construction method to keep the letters sturdy and self-supporting, without compromising the clean lines of the logo. Each letter rests on its own plexiglass base, also made by Plano Plastics, making the entire assembly appear to float freely and transparently in the space.

Result
The logo is not only a landmark in the hall, the felt also ensures a noticeable improvement in the room's acoustics, a functional addition to what would normally be a purely decorative object.
